The following were notified by Sarah Ewing, Clerk to Wotton Parish Council on the 7th August 2007

The Postbox on Ranmore Common opposite the Old Post Office – the verge has been destroyed. Royal Mail, the Post Office and Mole Valley District Council all maintain that this is not their problem but that of Surrey County Council.

Sight-lines at the Recycling Centre on Ranmore Common Road. Vegetation to the west of the entrance to the tip on the north side of the road needs cutting back.  

Cat's Eyes missing on Ranmore Road – also notified on the 6th June 2007.

The Old People Crossing sign on the A25 by the Wotton Hatch. This is missing and needs to be replaced. This was also notified to SCC on the 11th July 2007.

The north side footpath on the A25 from Crossways Farm to Coast Hill is impassable on foot due to overgrown vegetation. Notified also to SCC on the 11th July 2007.

Haunches on White Down Road and Hollow Lane - following heavy rains the edge of the carriageway on these roads in particular is very badly eroded - in places with foot deep holes. All this debris has now washed into the grips and drains.

The placement of the Traffic Master poles on the A25 at Coast Hill Farm. Wotton Parish Council has asked why it was not consulted about this. Also notified on the 11th July 2007.

Friday Street - there is a very deep pothole outside of Copse Cottage

10th NOVEMBER 2007

The following were notified by Sarah Ewing, Clerk to Wotton Parish Council

Vegetation on the verge by the Household Waste site on Ranmore Road (Enquiry 90077238 and 92010741) At 12/10 - Referred to contractors and waiting progress. Already reported on 16th July 2007.
 
A fourth request had been made for the cats eyes to be reinstated on the repaired stretches of Ranmore Road (Enquiry 90077240 and 92010742) At 12/10 – Reassigned to Andrew West and contractors were been notified as of 21/08. Closed on Highways system but chasing. No action to date. Already reported on 16th July 2007.
 
The gouges in the centre of the carriageway on the A25 approximately 25 or so metres to the west of the entrance to Wotton House Drive (Enquiry 90077239) Marked up by contractors on 13/07. At 12/10 no progress or update. Already reported on 16th July 2007.
 
The state of the haunches on the roads after all the heavy rain recently. No effort has been made to clear the grips of all the debris washed down the hills and the drains are fully blocked. A request to clear them was submitted. (Enquiry 92010745) At 12/10 no progress.
 
An explanation for the appearance of the traffic master poles at Manor Farm on the A25 was requested. (Enquiry 90077235 and 92010746) Geoff Wallace reassigned to another officer on 13/07 and 09/08. At 12/10 no progress. Already reported on the 11th July 2007.
 
Poor access to the post box on Ranmore Common due to verge erosion by motorised traffic was reported and a repair requested. (Enquiry 92010740) Tony Casey now assigned on 21/09. At 12/10 no progress. Already reported on the 7th August 2007.
 
The large and very deep pot-hole outside of Copse Cottage on Friday Street near the salt box. (Enquiry 92010747) had been repaired – contractor’s job number 61026793. Unfortunately only half of the job had been done leaving a similar sized pot-hole immediately next to the site of the one supposedly repaired. First reported on the 7th August 2007.

25th NOVEMBER 2007

The following were notified by Sarah Ewing, Clerk to Wotton Parish Council

Road surface water problem with a 20 metre section of road completely submerged after heavy rains to the east of Windy Gap Cottage and west of Leith Hill House on Abinger/Mosses Wood Road.
 
Poor state of repair/servicing of the grips and drains around the Parish. Clerk to request a copy of the planned maintenance schedule for the next twelve months.
 
Problems with heavy and large vehicles using and blocking Whitedown road and Sheephouse Lane. Current signage saying ‘6’6’’ with passing places’ does not deter larger vehicles. New signage needed in addition to say ‘Unsuitable for Heavy Vehicles’.

Parking space at Church Lane - St John’s Church Parochial Council have decided to widen the parking space along the edge of Church Lane opposite the Wotton Hatch. This will involve leveling a "hump" to enable the parking of two or more cars on the spot.

Flooding in Sheephouse Lane/Damphurst Lane

Gritting of Abinger Lane – at present the gritter do not grit Abinger Lane, they stick to the bus route that goes along Pasturewood Road and then down into Hollow Lane. They should grit the section of Abinger Lane, that goes from Goddards down to Abinger Common
